I must be the most irritating blogger of all time. Somebody literally came up to me in person the other week and said “WILL YOU PLEASE START BLOGGING AGAIN AND STOP MESSING ABOUT”. I am so lacking in consistency its shocking but I am back, again, and thought I’d bring you up to speed on everything that’s been going on and then we can pick up where we left off.
Those of you who follow me on social media may have noticed I’ve been doing some modelling again recently. Fear not, I’m not unleashing my fandingo on the world again, which is undoubtedly a good thing as my sex life is currently non-existent, therefore I haven’t shaved in a very long time. Try not to get too aroused.
But yeah, I’m back occasionally doing the odd photoshoot although they tend to be more for fun and to update my portfolio than for anything else. I started modelling at 18 and am now 26 which is mad to think I’ve been doing it that long although I use to cringe sooo hard when people would ask me what I did for a living and I’d say “model” because I know they were looking at me and thinking “lol, okay dickhead”.
Modelling was the one constant in my life for a really long time and although it became so repetitive that I fell out of love with it, it has actually been fun to be back posing again. I like modelling in small doses. I like it best when there’s no real pressure and I can lark about and belt along to the radio and have endless tea breaks without worrying that I’ve got another 5 sets to get through before the day is over. My favourite part of modelling was meeting new people every day because I never get sick of the sound of my own voice and love any excuse to tell a stranger my life story.
What actually brought me back to modelling was a shoot I did with an amazing photographer called Julia Fullerton-Batten on a project she was doing on sex workers. Her work is literally amazing and I had so much fun on the shoot. It was so nice to be part of this big creative input and Julia had such a lovely team who were so focused and into what we were shooting.
You can see the full project here on Julia’s website >> The Act, 2016 <<
We actually did like a behind the scenes/interview type video too which you can watch below, although be warned I am topless in it so maybe don’t watch it if you’re at work or your wife is around.
I’d cut my hair short like a week before the shoot, hence the clip in extensions they put in for me. I liked it though – like mermaid hair. Oh, and my posture is absolutely atrocious. I’m such a slouch.
I’ve also got a new job, which is a lot of fun. I’m hostessing at a strip club and I know in a previous blog I said I wouldn’t because I didn’t think it would be good for my mental health to be back in an adult entertainment type industry, I’m actually really enjoying it. I love the people that I’m working with and the camaraderie of working in a team again but I can’t lie it is tough working in an environment where I watch other girls make a lot of money, knowing I could easily be doing the same. Like, really hard.
To be fair, customers do usually mistake me for a dancer anyway, despite the fact I’m wearing jeans. I did find it pretty funny when I first started and customers would ask me “do you find it weird watching girls get naked?”. If they only knew…
